About Us

We are a small, family-run team who are trying our best to understand the current economic landscape and determine what it means for all of us. We want to share the most up-to-date and easy-to-understand information so that we all can better understand whether our ability to provide for ourselves and our family is impacted, and if so, how?

TariffCheck.org is aiming to become a comprehensive and reliable resource dedicated to providing clear, accessible information about US tariff policies and international trade regulations. Our goal is to help all better understand the complex world of tariffs and their impact on global commerce.

We also have plans to build a database & guide of HS codes for products to be imported or exported; stay tuned for that.

Please continue to check back to our site as we constantly add more information and features to better serve you.

Our Process

Our process right now is very manual, with our small team of 3 updating our database as soon as news breaks (or, truthfully, as soon as we come across it). We have set up personal alerts and subscriptions to various news organizations so that we can break the news as soon as possible.

We are trying to aggregate and organize official tariff data, presidential executive actions, and related documentation, providing a centralized source of information for those seeking to understand and comply with current trade regulations.

We are also working on automating some of our processes.

Our Background

Neither of us on the team has ever worked in journalism (Junior High Broadcast Club doesn't count, I'm pretty sure) or for a News Organization.

We have no corporate sponsors, backers, etc; we are not a spin-off of some government agency.

Our founder, Chris, has been a software developer for 17+ years across various industries and recently formed a freelance software development business LLC in the State of Florida. Around the same time, he came up with the idea to create TariffCheck.org; seeing a need for a single place to consolidate all of the whirlwind headlines regarding all of the tariffs changing on a daily basis.

Any updates to this site are done in our spare time, in between our day jobs.

We are 100% independent.

We also strive to show no bias or political leanings in our reporting of facts/data. You're smart enough to form your own opinions and don't need us to tell you how to feel.

Is anyone paying us?

No.

We are not currently making any money whatsoever from this site (though we hope to change that through minimal, unobtrusive ads...interested in advertising with us?).
